Who are we? |
|
We hear that so often, so this is our attempt to promote ourselves and the good works we try to do in the Thames Valley area. We are a group of like minded individuals that form a local region within the national club - GWOCGB, [GoldWing Owners Club of Great Britain] we are based in the South of England. Our 'formal' title is TVGWOCGB [Thames Valley GoldWing Owners Club of Great Britain] but within the club we tend to use the 'informal' Thames Valley Wings. Much more friendly don't you think! |

Thames Valley Wings were one of the original regions formed by our much respected former president of the GWOCGB, Mr Harry Ward. Harry was one of the people who brought the first Goldwing into the UK and had a passion for Friendship rarely seen in other Bike Clubs. It started with a few friends who owned Wings and has grown into the family region it is today. |

Thames Valley put on a Wingding on a bi-annual basis and it is our turn in July, 2009. Why not become a member and come along to this and all the other events we enjoy. I'm sure you'll get hooked, as we all did. As the region has grown, more and more members like the idea of staying in Hotels rather than camping so we try to also cater for this with informal trips away to various areas of the UK. The thing to remember is that as a member of the GWOCGB you are free to come along to the regional meetings, rides out and organised weekends away, all at no extra cost - with the exception of the hotel weekends of course. The region has members who have been around Goldwing's for 25 years and know them inside out and those who have only a couple of years experience and like to do no more than ride their bikes. We are a relaxed region who meet in Arborfield, Nr Reading on the last Wednesday of the month roughly between 7:30pm and 10pm. You can join in and do as little or as much as you want to do. To find us just click on the Map. We have several Women riders in the region with Goldwing Trikes as well as young riders of 18 and 19 years of age who have grown up with the Goldwing scene. Making long term friendships and socialising is a large part of being a Thames Valley member so drop an email to the Regional Rep or give them a call (see REP on Committee page for details) and come along to the next meeting. We'll do our best to make you welcome. |

Feel free to send us an email, telling us what you think of our web site including what you would like to see and what interests you as a Winger. NB: When attending the meetings on your Wing, please refrain from switching on any Show Lights until your bike is stationary in the club car Park. It is a shared club so please be courteous to other patrons. |
